Buongiorno (Good Morning)! Hey I'm learning a new word a day ;)

Yesterday (May 16, 2017) was our last full day in Florence. That city is definitely one of our favorites ever; its walkable, beautiful, and there is plenty to do and great options for eating. Two full days is for sure enough to see everything worth seeing!

We started our day climbing to the top of the dome of the Duomo. I definitely suggest doing it if you are up for a workout, the view is gorgeous (pictured below me and Gordon at the top). The guy behind us nearly had a heart attack and had to turn around... I felt so bad! The stairs are winding, narrow, and claustrophobic. It was about 20 minutes of stairs before we got to the top - but you can of course go at your own pace. But seriously, the view is 100% worth it at the end!

After that beautiful workout (never thought I'd say that), we treated ourselves to shopping, pizza, and gelato. Giving Florence an A+ for all 3.

We've had the same pizza and gelato place recommended by multiple sources. And here is my honest opinion: the pizza at Gusta Pizza was definitely worth the extra effort and walk, while the gelato at Eduardo Gelato tasted very similar to other gelato places we tried in the city (all good, all worth it).

We ended our day going to Uffizi Gallery and looking at famous early works by Di Vinci and Sandro Botticelli. We hit the highlights and bounced - otherwise you can spend 5 hours in there looking at art... haha.

The search for a statue of Cicero (A Roman Philosopher/ also my Husbands legal name) continues - we tried to find it all over Florence but are hopeful it'll be in Rome!

Today we are off to Tuscany for a quiet, romantic retreat in the vineyards. Can't wait to share more about it with you tomorrow!

The chef at Gusta Pizza will even give you a heart  ;)
