AH MY FIRST POST! I'm so excited to be sharing this post specifically as my first, because these pictures are, and will always, be very special to me. My fiancĂ© Gordon and I got engaged on January 12, 2016, and its been a busy but AMAZING year so far because we are doing all the fun things that are involved in wedding planning: like this engagement shoot in Miami woooo, cake tasting, wine tasting, 'meetings', etc. Gordon and I have been dating for 5 years. It all started my freshman year at the University of SC ( He was a sophomore at UGA) and my roommate…aka Gordon's sister… set us up. Thanks Katie we love you ;)It’s been a wild but thrilling ride. And my life without him is something I never want to think about.
If you haven’t been to the Vizcaya Museum in Miami, you need to go next time you're in SOFLA. It’s a dream. This was one of our wedding venue options, actually. But we all were nervous about having an outdoor wedding in South Florida hence the unpredictable weather. So, we still put the museums beauty to good use and used it to make some pretty ridiculous ( we think ) engagement photos!
Despite the 100 degree weather and strenuous florida humidity, Gordon managed to not sweat a single drop - in a suite might I add - while I was in need of a full blowout by the end of it.
We wanted to keep our outfits simple, in pattern and color, so that all the natural beauty around us wasn't compromised. I knew exactly what I wanted us to wear as soon as I saw the venue. The pictures will be used for our 'save the dates' and I think it s perfect prelude to the theme of the wedding - Romantic, Elegant, Classic, and Simplicity at its finest.
I'm obsessed with this Jonathan Simkhai Top. The ties on the side give it an 'edge' and make it uniquely perfect. This Eric Javits hat (sold our similar here) and Alice & Olivia skirt added that flare of romantic 'Parisian' I was looking for. It was just perfect. We saw Gordon's suit walking through Nordstrom in the 'Topman' section. The suit has been very useful for him every since.

This is an inspiring share. These romantic photos are driving me crazy. I also needed some ideas for our pre wedding shoot and this post has set really high goals. Would definitely be showing these photos to my fiancé. It will be great if you could help by sharing some inspirations for the chic NYC venues as well.
